Make a Difference in Someone's Life - Volunteer!
Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling, Inc. is currently recruiting volunteers to provide advocacy for victims of sexual assault or abuse, and their families. You will play an important role in helping victims feel they are not alone and not to blame for the assault. When you are on-call, you will carry a pager and respond to local emergency rooms when an assault has occurred and/or you will provide phone advocacy for someone in need.
ON-CALL HOURS ARE: Sunday’s - Thursday’s 4:00 pm - 9:00 am, Fri/Sat 4:00 pm - 4:00 pm
YOU Choose the night(s) that work best for you!
40 Hour Training Required and Provided by RSAC.
$40 fee required to cover class materials (scholarships available)
Summer 2010 Training Schedule:
Saturday, May 1, 2010 8:30 - 5:00 pm
Thursday’s (5/6/10, 5/13/10, 5/20/10, 5/27/10, 6/3/10) 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Saturday, May 29, 2010 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Must be at least 18 years of age; have reliable transportation with insurance, have a telephone, and pass a background check.

Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling (RSAC) provides 24-hour crisis intervention, counseling services and advocacy support for survivors of sexual assault and sexual abuse, ages 3-adult, and their significant others in Winnebago, Boone and Ogle Counties. RSAC also offers prevention education programming and professional training in Winnebago, Boone and Ogle counties in Illinois.
